Started in 1986 by Lunchmeat, this is the longest standing bike race on Kauai. Originally called the 'Powerline Outlaw Race' because no permits, no race fees, only bragging rites and a coconut for the winner. Has been called an all out survival race.Come test your will on this grueling trek through the middle of the "Garden Island." Starting in Princeville 9am – ride, hike and push your bike 11 miles to Wailua's Keahua Arboratum. BBQ and Kava ceremony wait for all who dare. Past winners include Jed Smith(7 wins), Rick Beach(8 wins), and last years winner Oshi Grady(2 wins)
Unfortunately, the Powerline Trail is unpassable now, mainly due to invasive plants taking over.
